Our very special guest…
Heather was born in Toronto and trained at the Richmond Academy of Dance in British Columbia before joining The National Ballet of Canada in 1998. She was promoted to Principal Dancer in 2005.
She is a powerful dancer of extraordinary depth and range and she has performed nearly every lead role in the classical repertoire – including Swan Lake, the Sleeping Beauty and Romeo and Juliet. She has an extensive George Balanchine repertoire and has danced in many contemporary works, including new creations by such choreographers as Alexei Ratmansky, Christopher Wheeldon, Wayne McGregor, Crystal Pite and Jorma Elo. As a guest artist she has also performed with many international companies.
VBS is so fortunate that she has agreed to teach a Master Class and to perform for us at For the Love of Dance 2024, at a time when she is in rehearsal to perform in Giselle with the National Ballet in November. Our fundraiser is a wonderful opportunity to see an extraordinary dancer in an intimate setting, and the Master Class is an open opportunity for young dancers to learn from Ogden's talent.
